Latest Release

v0.2.0 · 6/3/26
  • New FX — Reverse/Slow. Time-machine on the Mid row. Bipolar depth: full-CCW is −2× reverse, ~10 o'clock is a vinyl stop, 2 o'clock is live pass-through, full-CW races at +3×. Param is a spring target — pulls the speed toward 0× (brake) or +1× (catch-up) at a rate you set. Backed by a 32 MB SDRAM ring, which is why it can only live on Mid.
  • Slot reorg. Phaser moved from Mid to Bottom to make room for Reverse/Slow. Top row: DJ Filter · Bit Crush · Riser. Mid row: Chopper · Beat Repeat · Reverse/Slow. Bottom row: Phaser · Echo · Space. Nine effects total now, each with a depth and a single character param.
  • CV routing — all six jacks live. Per-slot depth CV on J3 (Top), J5 (Mid), and J7 (Bottom). Each is bipolar around the pot — unpatched is zero delta, ±5 V swings depth ±0.5 around wherever you parked it. Stacks with the pot value and any parameter lock at the composition site, so a CV-modulated knob still respects the lock.
  • Clock moved to J4. The PI-PLL follower still freewheels at 120 BPM when unpatched; the higher resolution gives Chopper and Beat Repeat tighter lock to fast sequencer clocks. Reset on J6: a rising edge snaps the musical clock to the downbeat — patch your sequencer's reset for true bar-aligned Beat Repeat slices.
  • Panic-mute trigger on J8. A high gate on J8 counts as two virtual buttons, so a single pulse drops the whole chain into bypass — useful for external panic footswitches or any "kill" gate from your sequencer.

v0.1.0

5/30/26
  • First public firmware for the Spagyros performance FX. Three series slots, one row each, with a curated rotation of effects per slot.
  • Top row: DJ Filter, Bit Crush, Riser. Mid row: Phaser, Chopper, Beat Repeat. Bottom row: Space, Echo. Eight effects total, each with a depth and a single character param.
  • Click-free FX cycling: pressing a row button retints the LED ring instantly, then defers the audio swap until the outgoing FX has rung out. Tails on Riser, Space, and Echo are honoured.
  • Press any two row buttons together to bypass the whole chain. A reliable panic mute regardless of which FX are loaded, with pot-catch re-armed so nothing pops back on until you sweep through.
  • Parameter locks on every pot — hold B1 and nudge to record ~4 s of looping modulation, summed with the stored pot value at the composition site.
  • Clock input on J3 (24 PPQN, PI-PLL follower). Drives Chopper and Beat Repeat; freewheels at 120 BPM when nothing is patched, so the rhythmic FX still groove standalone.
  • Spagyros always boots bypassed — every depth pot is parked at its FX's off corner and re-armed for pot-catch. The FX selection (which effect each row last cycled to) is the only persisted state, restored from preset slot 0 on power-up.
